Understanding the Power of Faceless Branding

In today’s digital world, faceless branding is a key business strategy. That is to say, it helps business owners build a strong presence without needing a personal face. This method lets companies focus on their products and values, keeping their identity hidden.

The Rise of Anonymous Brand Presence

Many factors have led to the rise of anonymous brands. Above all, people want privacy and flexibility, and growing without a personal brand has become easier. Instagram alone has over 290,000+ posts tagged with #facelessmarketing, showing its growing popularity.

Moreover, companies can create a unique voice that speaks to their audience by choosing a faceless identity. That way, they don’t need a single person to represent the business. Above all, it creates more freedom to change and grow without being stuck to one image or one person.

Benefits of a Faceless Corporate Identity

One big plus of a faceless brand is focusing on the business itself, not the people behind it. Faceless branding is great for travel, food, fashion, and fitness industries, where privacy matters.

In addition, faceless branding saves time and reduces stress. It certainly did for me! I started creating video content on camera and, within a few months, felt the stress of burnout. I invested in low cost faceless content video templates, utilised Canva and saved myself the hassle of time and energy needed to be on camera.

Above all, faceless branding means there is no constant need to share personal details. In today’s crazy world of trolls and lunatics, retaining privacy is paramount for many people. In addition, this element is crucial since 43% of creators feel burnt out every quarter due to personal branding stress.

Another big plus is that once you become successful and want to hire helpers, they can take over the content creation without disrupting or harming your brand.

Crafting Your Faceless Brand Strategy

Creating a strong faceless brand strategy is key in today’s market. Focus on three main areas:

  1. Your brand’s unique voice
  2. A compelling story
  3. A consistent look.

These three elements help your brand stand out and better connect with your audience.

Defining Your Brand’s Unique Voice and Personality

Your brand’s voice and personality are the base of your marketing. Above all, consider what your audience likes and create a tone that speaks to them. That is to say, a clear brand personality can encourage customer loyalty, helping your business grow.

Creating a Compelling Brand Story

A good brand story connects with your audience on an emotional level. Start with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Show what makes your brand unique and what you stand for. Look at successful faceless brands for tips on telling your story well.

Developing a Consistent Visual Identity

Your brand’s look, including logos and colours, should match your personality. Being consistent helps your brand stand out in a busy market. It makes people remember you.

Dropbox’s rebrand with Collins shows how a unique look can make a brand memorable. It sets you apart from others.

Brand Strategy Element Key Considerations
Brand Voice and Personality Relatable, engaging tone aligned with target audience preferences
Brand Story Clear structure, emotional connection, unique selling points and values
Visual Identity Consistent logo, colours, style complementing brand personality

By focusing on these key areas, you can build a strong, engaging brand. This faceless strategy will help you connect with your audience and achieve business success.

Implementing Faceless Branding Tactics

For effective faceless branding, businesses need to use digital marketing. They should mix

  • SEO (Search Engine Optimisation):
  • SEM (Search Engine Marketing): Google, Pinterest & YouTube
  • SMM (Social Media Marketing): Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.

Create content regularly and engage with your audience through user-generated content. This way, a business can stay anonymous but still connect with people.

Leveraging Social Media for Faceless Engagement

Social media is excellent for faceless engagement. Brands can grab attention by using Instagram Stories, IG Feed, and TikTok. They can also use stock photos and videos to make content that fits their brand.

Utilising Influencer Partnerships

Influencer partnerships are still crucial for faceless brands. Working with successful influencers who share the brand’s values can help reach more people. This way, brands can build trust without needing personal appearances.

Capitalising on User-Generated Content

Using user-generated content is a smart move for faceless brands. It shows real content from customers, proving the brand’s worth. This builds trust and emotional connection without needing personal endorsements.

Implementing Guerrilla Marketing Techniques

Guerrilla marketing is all about making a splash in new ways. Brands can use interactive installations, pop-up events, or campaigns to get noticed. This approach can start conversations and make people curious about the brand.

Faceless Branding Tactic Key Benefits
Social Media Engagement Connects with target audience, builds brand awareness
Influencer Partnerships Expands reach, fosters trust, taps into new audiences
Guerrilla Marketing Creates buzz, generates interest, sparks conversations
User-Generated Content Builds community, provides social proof, strengthens reputation

By using these tactics, businesses can build a strong, trustworthy image. They don’t need personal endorsements to succeed. The secret is to keep the brand consistent, make valuable content, and keep innovating for the changing needs of consumers.

What is Guerrilla Marketing?

If you’ve never heard of Guerrilla marketing, it’s an unconventional marketing strategy focusing on low-cost, creative, and highly engaging tactics to promote products or services. The goal is to surprise, delight, or captivate the target audience unexpectedly, creating a memorable brand experience.

Key Characteristics of Guerrilla Marketing:

  3. Interactive Installations: Creative setups in high-traffic areas that encourage audience participation.
  4. Viral Stunts: Unexpected events or pranks shared widely on social media.

Well-structured faceless branding builds lasting emotional connections with your audience, whether you’re selling products or promoting a cause.

Faceless Digital Marketing: An In-Depth Guide to Getting Started

October 13, 2024

faceless digital marketing

Faceless Digital Marketing is Becoming a Popular Choice for Social Media Influencers

Faceless digital marketing has taken social media platforms by storm. Today, brands and influencers dominate social media with faceless content, and it’s working.

It’s challenging to imagine making a 6-7 figure income without ever showing your face, but for many faceless marketers, that’s the reality.

Imagine building a six-figure income from the comfort of your home, all while maintaining complete privacy. Faceless digital marketing makes this dream possible, offering a golden opportunity for introverts like you and me and those who prefer to let their content creation speak for themselves.

However, it’s not easy to build a faceless brand. There are some nuances to understand so you position yourself in a way that generates engagement and builds trust with your audience.

This article is a step-by-step guide to launching a faceless digital marketing business from the comfort of your home.

What is Faceless Digital Marketing?

Suppose you’re scrolling through Instagram or TikTok and come across a profile that’s absolutely killing it. The account has thousands of followers, tons of engagement, and genuinely helpful content. But here’s the kicker – you have no idea who’s behind it because the person never shows their face.

Faceless marketing is about letting your content do the talking. It’s all about creating value-packed posts, videos, and graphics that your audience can’t resist. It’s about substance over style, focusing on what really matters to your followers.

Whether you’re sharing mind-blowing marketing tips, serving up mouthwatering recipes, or dishing out life-changing productivity hacks, your identity stays under wraps while your content takes centre stage.

Faceless Marketing Niche Ideas and Examples

Niche selection in faceless branding is vital.

Many people think that the make money online niche is the best one to start, but social media platforms, like Instagram, are not supportive. Indeed, Instagram has banned #makemoneyonline.

Check the MetaHashTags website for banned hashtags.

The FTC is also clamping down on income claims content, and that suggests making money is easy.

The following are some popular niches for faceless digital marketing:

  • Artificial Intelligence & Tech Updates: Share the latest in AI and tech, including tutorials and tips on using new applications.
  • Home Decor and DIY: Showcase home improvement ideas and interior design inspiration using user-generated content, stock images, and AI-generated visuals.
  • Education: Create content on personal finance, coding, or language learning through infographics and tutorial videos.
  • Food and Recipes: Post mouthwatering food photos, recipes, and cooking tips without showing the chef.
  • Mental Health and Wellness: Offer mental health advice and support through calming visuals, self-care tips, and motivational content. There are some super popular psychology channels on Instagram.
  • Pets: People love pet channels. Once you gain a lot of followers, you may get brand deals for pet products. Focus on one species, such as dogs.
  • Travel: Post photos and videos of global destinations, along with travel tips and itineraries, all without showing who’s behind the camera.

Benefits of Going Faceless

I went faceless after developing an unexplained rash on my face and neck that lasted for several months.

When I was creating face-forward content, I found it hugely stressful and time-consuming. Faceless digital marketing significantly reduces the stress often associated with personal branding.

When you market anonymously, you avoid the public attention and audience biases that come with having a face-forward brand.

Going faceless preserves mental well-being and allows you to experiment and pivot your strategies without the fear of personal judgment (the trolls come out when you gain a bit of success) or brand dilution.

  • Privacy and Anonymity: In the age where keyboard warriors are rampant, faceless marketing protects your identity and personal space.
  • Scalability: You can scale your faceless brand faster
  • Focus on Content Quality: Instead of spending hours tidying your hair, covering a spot and getting out of your bag lady clothes, you can focus 100% on creating valuable content.
  • You’re Not Limited to a Personal Brand: It’s much easier to pivot a niche with faceless marketing without causing a massive disruption in your marketing strategy.

Strategies for Faceless Branding Success

Faceless accounts need a bit more work on strategy planning.

Step 1: Choose a Niche: Pick a theme that doesn’t rely on personal branding. Think of evergreen subjects or specific hobbies with dedicated followers.

Step 2: Embrace Technology: Use AI tools for voice generation in videos and auto-captioning apps to create polished content without showing your face. Here’s a few ideas –

  • CapCut: Free video editing software for effects and adding captions.
  • Canva: A popular graphic design platform for creating reels, stories, images – anything that needs graphic design.
  • Pictory AI: A fantastic platform for text-to-video creation.
  • Eleven Labs: Text-to-speech and AI voice generator.
  • Repurpose: Use this AI-generated content platform to curate your content across platforms effortlessly.

Step 3: Prioritise Quality: Focus on creating valuable, high-quality content. Leverage AI and editing software to enhance your visuals and written material. Making fewer high-quality posts a week is better than publishing 2-3 low-quality posts daily.

Step 4: Master SEO: Learn and apply SEO best practices for each social media platform. For instance, Instagram prioritises SEO keywords more than hashtags. Do keyword research, optimise your content, and build quality backlinks to boost organic traffic.

Step 5: Curate Content: Make the most of platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Threads. Create eye-catching visuals, use relevant hashtags, and tap into trending topics. Repurpose is excellent for curating content effortlessly.

Step 6: Automate Where Possible: Content creation is time-consuming. Use scheduling and social media automation tools to post content consistently without the manual work.

Step 7: Diversify Income Streams: Explore different ways to monetise your content, such as affiliate marketing, selling digital products, or incorporating ad revenue. These income-generating methods work well with anonymous accounts.

Applying these simple strategies allows you to build a successful faceless digital marketing presence that grows and generates income over time.

Creating Faceless Content is More Time Efficient & Less Stressful Than Being on Camera

Implementing Faceless Digital Marketing

Looking at the bigger picture before starting your faceless digital marketing journey is essential.

What is your end goal? What’s the timeframe, and what steps do you take to reach the goal?

Unless you have a personal account, most people start a faceless account with the plan to monetise it. So, let’s explore the monetisation opportunities.

How to Monetise Faceless Digital Marketing

Creating and selling digital products is 100% possible with faceless marketing. You can still build trust with your audience so they are happy to buy your products.

There is enormous potential for faceless monetisation for every imaginable niche.

  • AI Prompts: Focus on a niche. I am creating AI prompts for writing SEO, etc.
  • Digital Planners: There are no limitations for ideas. Make them customisable.
  • Diet Plans, Recipes & Nutrition Guides: These are super popular, and you can link to food blogs.
  • Workout Planner: Help people stay accountable for their fitness regime.
  • Content Calendar: Create niche-specific planners.
  • Website Templates: Create them on Squarespace, Canva, etc.
  • Social Media Templates: For example, I create Pinterest pin templates.
  • E-Book Templates: These save people a ton of time. ‍

There are loads more ideas. Research and use your imagination.

Canva is fantastic for creating digital products. Ensure you use free elements or get a subscription with Creative Fabrica. You can download unlimited content for a low annual price and make unique digital content.

If you can’t face the idea of creating your own digital products, consider joining Catalyst Collective. You can resell this fantastic program and make 70% commissions.

The program also teaches you how to create digital products.

Where Do I Sell My Digital Products?

You can sell your newly created digital products in dozens of places online. However, some of them are expensive, such as Thinkify and Thrivecart.

The following platforms are my personal choices:

  • Beacons AI: You can have a 100% free account and list your products for free. You can see an example of my store HERE.
  • Systeme AI: Lifetime free access. You can host one course for free. Under one domain, you can place as many sub-domains for your products as you like.
  • Gumroad: This simple platform is popular with many digital marketers. I have a store here, but I am mostly moving to Beacons AI now as it has better functionality.

Many people use Etsy to sell digital products, but I’m hearing many negative stories of Etsy randomly suspending accounts, even long-standing accounts with positive records.

Is Faceless Marketing Worth It?

Here’s the truth: You can grow a following faster with face-forward content because when people see your face on daily content, it builds the “like, know, trust” element, which is essential for converting watchers to buyers.

Don’t let that fact discourage you from starting a faceless account. The trick is to nail your niche and identify your target audience. After that, outline a customer avatar and create quality content that brings value to your audience, and you will start gaining momentum.

What Are the Benefits of Faceless Marketing?

The biggest benefit of faceless marketing is it enables you to build multiple faceless accounts in different niches without harming your personal brand.

Creating faceless content is faster. You can purchase DFY content, such as the 1500 faceless reels I have put together. Even using the same reels, you can create individualised content.

Another significant benefit is that once your income builds, you can hire virtual assistants to create your content while you hang out with the kids, walk the dogs, or go for coffee.

Is There A Future for Faceless Marketing?

Personal brands are still dominating the market, but there’s an increasing movement towards faceless content. If you value personal privacy, starting a faceless brand is the best way to start and grow your business.

Focus on creating quality content with a valuable message that helps your audience; you could even receive requests to create content for other faceless marketers.faceless

The more you create faceless content, the easier it becomes.

Is It Easy to Create Faceless Content?

It’s not difficult to create faceless content, but there’s a danger of slipping into mediocrity if you’re not vigilant about the creation process.

Your faceless content creation competes with millions of other creators, so you must ask yourself, “What makes my content different?”

I recommend following Created by Wayne, a Canva creator on YouTube. He teaches simple ways to create unique content.

Is Faceless Marketing Worth It?

I think so.

It takes time. You may have a process of adjusting and learning from how your audience responds to your content.

The objective is to build a following eager to see your content, but you’re also navigating the algorithms.

If you want to grasp Instagram algorithm changes, I recommend Catalyst Collective. The founder is an ex-Meta executive, generating $300 million in ad revenue.

I started the Catalyst training program in September 2024. I’m learning Instagram marketing, which has helped me understand engagement strategies and I finally started using IG stories. I now recognise all the mistakes I made with my content and messaging.

If you want to monetise your faceless account with affiliate marketing, start with the end in sight. Curate your content as if your life depends on it, and use SEO religiously on every platform to gain organic traffic for scalability.

Is Faceless Marketing Worth It for Content Creators?

Faceless Marketing Is Less Stressful Than Camera Facing. It Decreases the Risk if Content Creation Burnout

Is faceless marketing worth it?

Most digital marketing courses say it takes longer to build a following with faceless marketing.

Supposedly, it’s the “know, like, trust” aspect.

I don’t get that. Just because you can see someone’s face doesn’t mean that person is honest and ethical.

I know many people who’ve bought from an influencer and then got ghosted once they’d handed over their hard-earned cash.

Additionally, it’s not followers you need. It’s a loyal tribe of people who want to buy your products or services.

Be aware of the dopamine hit of wanting more followers for the sake of it.

Still, notably, in 2024, more people are switching to faceless marketing, and there are sound reasons for doing so.

What’s the Deal with Faceless Marketing?

Simply put, faceless marketing is content without a face. No influencers. No celebrities or you turning up on video each day. It’s just a pure, unadulterated product or message.

I switched to faceless marketing in May 2024 because I had an allergic reaction on my face and neck.

Going faceless was the best thing that happened.

Why Faceless Marketing Is Catching Fire

Is faceless digital marketing worth it for individuals and businesses? I think so.

Maybe I am biased, but faceless marketing has made my life as a content creator considerably easier.

The following section explores the benefits of faceless marketing for creators like me and online or brick-and-mortar businesses.

Faceless Marketing For Creators

As a content creator, I think faceless marketing is the dog’s wotsits. I wish I’d done it sooner.

Privacy: The Invisible Superhero

Imagine being famous, but not really.

It comes with a whole heap of disadvantages.

Weirdly, your followers start thinking they have some rights to your time and energy. They can get quite put out if you pull back from your camera-facing marketing campaign.

Faceless marketing lets you keep your personal life personal. No more random fan encounters at the grocery store or unwanted attention towards your family and friends.

Fewer trolls. Fewer negative comments and DMs.

You’re free to create without the baggage of a public persona, giving you the power to switch off when you’re not ‘on duty’.

Faceless marketing is like having a secret identity, minus the cape and tights.

Less Stress: Goodbye Burnout!

Say goodbye to the pressure of looking Instagram-perfect 24/7. OK, filters these days are amazing, but it’s a lot of faffing.

After six weeks of posting twice daily on TikTok, I’d had enough.

Each day, I shared one forward-facing and one faceless video. The former took 5 or 6 takes. I then added filters and captions and cut the ums and errs. One video took me 30-60 minutes, and I did fourteen videos weekly!

Creating faceless content is simple and quick, primarily created on Canva with faceless aesthetic video content.

With faceless marketing, you can skip the drama of social media comments about your appearance and avoid the expectation to weigh in on every trending topic.

It’s a break from the ‘always on’ mentality of personal branding.

You’ll feel the weight lift off your shoulders as you reduce anxiety about being judged for every word or action.

Maintaining work-life balance becomes much easier when your face isn’t your brand.

Since starting faceless marketing, I no longer feel the exhaustion of a day spent creating video content.

faceless marketing

Faceless Marketing is Less Stressful & it’s Quicker to Create Content

Focus on Content: It’s All About the Message

With faceless marketing, your ideas take the stage, not your personality.

That said, I believe you can inject personality into your faceless content.

Still, your audience engages with your content, not your personal life.

Faceless marketing allows you to evolve your content without explaining personal changes or confusing your audience with pivots in topics or styles.

Collaboration becomes a breeze without worrying about personal brand conflicts.

Best of all, your work is judged on its quality, not on whether your nose is too big or your hair is a mess. It’s pure, unadulterated content – your ideas, message, and superpower.

I’ve found it easier to stick to my brand colours and provide a cohesive look throughout my TikTok content. I then curate to Instagram.

Remember, in this world, your content speaks louder than any selfie ever could. It’s all about what you say, not how you look when saying it.

Faceless Marketing For Brands

If you’re building a brand online, don’t assume you need to show your face. Creating a faceless brand might be the best decision you make.

No PR Nightmares: Brand Safety on Autopilot

Imagine a world where your brand isn’t one tweet away from disaster.

Do they still call them tweets or baby Xs?

You’re free from the rollercoaster of influencer scandals and public meltdowns. Your brand stays squeaky clean, focused on what matters – your product or service.

That’s the beauty of faceless marketing.

Adapting to trends and building a force field around your reputation is easier, protecting you from the unpredictable highs and lows of personal branding.

Your Product Takes Centre Stage: The Real Star of the Show

In faceless marketing, your product isn’t playing second fiddle to a famous face. It’s the headline act, the main event, the reason people tune in.

Without a celebrity distraction, consumers build a relationship directly with your brand.

They’re not buying because “Jennifer Aniston uses it.” Your product becomes authentic and stands on its own merits.

It becomes known for what it is, not who is selling it.

It’s Easier on the Wallet: Champagne Marketing on a Beer Budget

Faceless marketing lets you create impactful campaigns without breaking the bank.

You’re investing in creativity and quality content, not celebrity fees.

Or, if you’re doing it yourself, you can create faceless content wearing your pyjamas, eating a bag of crisps and sitting next to your dog.

That means more bang for your buck, more campaign content, and more marketing strategy flexibility. It’s an effective shortcut to marketing success that doesn’t require a Hollywood budget.

Become a faceless marketer

One Primary Benefit of Faceless Marketing is You Can Hire Someone to do it for You.

Content Stays Fresh Longer: The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Evergreen content is the bomb!

I’ve posted faceless content on TikTok since May 2024. I post Monday to Friday twice daily. Recently, I’m switching to once daily.

Creating fourteen faceless videos each week is still time-consuming.

I’m reducing my content output because I still get similar views and followers over the weekend whether I post or not.

Faceless content has serious staying power. Unlike influencer campaigns that can feel dated faster than last season’s fashion, anonymous content remains relevant for longer.

It’s not tied to fleeting trends or fading stars.

This longevity means your content works harder for you. It’s a marketing strategy that keeps giving long after you’ve created it.

Scales Like a Dream: Growth Without Growing Pains

Want to expand your campaign? With faceless marketing, it’s a breeze.

If you’ve spent a year producing face-forward content, you can only hire a team to edit your videos. You must still show up on camera.

With faceless, you can hand the job to anyone capable of creating faceless content that adheres to your branding.

Multiple creators can work on your content simultaneously. Whether targeting different regions or ramping up production, faceless content scales effortlessly.

It’s a functional marketing strategy that grows with you without the growing pains.

In the world of faceless marketing, your brand isn’t just a face – it’s about the power of creativity and branding.

Conclusion: Is Faceless Marketing Worth It, And Is It Here To Stay?

Maybe.

Is it the only way forward?

Not necessarily. I notice that novice marketers switch from face forward to faceless marketing and then back again.

That ineffective strategy happens because they are impatient and don’t give their marketing plan enough time to work.

Only you can answer the question, “Is faceless marketing worth it?” If you plan to give it a try, here’s a few tips

  • Map out ideas on paper
  • Add impactful, upbeat music
  • Add captions if you do voice-over
  • Create brand colours, styles & font
  • Use simple editing tools like Canva
  • Monitor analytics to see which content performs best & do more of that

There are disadvantages to faceless marketing, but for me, it is the quickest and easiest way to create video content.

Can You Succeed on TikTok With A Faceless Account?

May 27, 2024

faceless tiktok marketing

Not everyobody wants their face on camera. Faceless marketing is popular with all ages, not least that it’s easier

TikTok is a strange platform. Many people find it baffling and never get out of the 200-view jail.

Before continuing, I must tell you that having low views doesn’t mean you cannot succeed with your faceless digital marketing business.

Although there are disadvantages to faceless marketing, it is so much easier and less stressful when you’re creating every day.

The lady I bought my digital marketing program from, hit $50k in her first few months, posting three times daily on TikTok. Even now, she rarely gets more than 300 views, but she’s averaging $10k to $20k months now. That said, she is 100% on camera. I don’t think that’s sustainable 365 days a year, not even if you batch create content.

Here’s How the TikTok Algorithm Works

TikTok chucks a video out to a select audience when you post it. Therefore, if people only watch a percentage of the video and you don’t get engagement in that first tier, TikTok doesn’t show it to anyone else.

Meanies …

The Four levels of the TikTok Algorithm

  1. 50 – 5k
  2. 5k – 10k
  3. 25k – 100k
  4. 1M – 1B

When you first start posting content, it’s trial and error. You find your way around what works and what doesn’t.

I’ve been posting twice daily, five times a week since May 2024. I started with face forward but developed a rash on my face and neck in May, so switched to faceless.

I now post 100% faceless content that performs as well as, or better than, my face-forward content, and I’m getting more follows.

What the Heck Matters to TikTok?

One word.

Watchtime.

That is all that matters.

You need people to watch your video content to the end. As most people have the attention span of a speck of dust, that is no mean feat.

The first few weeks I posted on TikTok, I droned on like I was talking to my bestie.

I tried to make my content entertaining. I added subtitles and music. But those goldfish-brained TikTokers just weren’t playing ball.

That said, I have consistently averaged around 450 views, so better than most.

Jan, Get to the Point! Can A Faceless Account Succeed on TikTok?

Oops, sorry. Although, sorry, not sorry. I’ve just shared vital information with you, so stop moaning.

The short answer is “yes.” You can succeed with a Faceless TikTok account. The proviso depends on several factors, and I will list those below.

8 Top Tips To Improve TikTok Watchtime

Tip #1: Do Shorter Videos

Don’t do as I did and do the “people-pleasing” stuff. I ensured that text was on the screen long enough for people to read. Doh.

Why would they hang around?

Create video content 6 – 8 seconds long. Add longer snippets of text that people cannot read in 8 seconds (bless them)

Once you have built a decent following, you can post longer content (up to 30 minutes now!) because people will binge-watch your videos.

Tip 2: The First 3 Seconds Count

If you fail to grab attention in the first few seconds, people won’t watch the entire video, even if it is 6 seconds. Don’t lead with an introduction or any waffle.

Get to the point. Make a big claim, use humour or a powerful image.

Tip #3: Focus on Getting Engagement

Ask questions, post a contrary point of view, or do something that evokes a response in people. Don’t be vanilla.

Tip #4: Have A Great Hook

Many people confuse a hook with a heading. The latter is boring.

A few examples of hooks:

  • You won’t believe what happened to me …
  • I told a lie …
  • The most surprising thing about (whatever) …
  • Who else wants more money?
  • How I generated $10k in my first month from Pinterest

Examples of headings:

  • My holiday in Spain
  • Why I wear contact lenses
  • I built a website
  • My gran likes doughnuts (although, LOL, that could work)

The hook must be visible on the cover so people see it immediately before watching the video. I made that mistake for three weeks.

Tip #5: Focus on the Problem

Assuming you have identified your niche, what problem keeps your target audience awake, and do you have the solution?

Identify and prod your target audience’s pain points in your video content. If they feel an emotional response, they intuitively know you understand them.

Tip #6: Bridge The Gap

Show the viewer how your product bridges the gap between the problem and the solution. For example, if you run a pest control business, you’d show you can get rid of vermin quickly and efficiently. Use visuals to create impact.

A faceless TikTok account works well if you can show the bridge between the problem and the solution.

Tip #7: Use Good Quality Images

As you’re doing faceless content, you can use images with transitions. Use these images to tell a story. If using video content, record with the best quality available.

If you’re a woman in digital marketing, you have multiple options for creating faceless content.

Tip #8: Always Add Subtitles

I use Capcut for editing. You can use this free software on a mobile or desktop or download it to your laptop. It’s entirely free and easy to use. It has a range of different subtitle styles. I go for one where the text highlights with a colour for each word. Canva is also brilliant for creating unique video content with transitions.

Many people watch TikTok at work or in public, so have the sound off. Subtitles are essential for a better user experience.

Bonus Tip #9

If you struggle with faceless content ideas, search for successful faceless accounts in your industry on TikTok and save their viral content to a collection. Did you know you can create collections on TikTok? You should see the button in your account.

Don’t copy this content. Use it to brainstorm content styles, duration, etc.

Conclusion

To sum up, there are multiple reasons for choosing faceless digital marketing. Often, people don’t want their boss or family to see them online. Or, you might not like the idea of having your face all over the Internet. I started with 50% faceless content, and, honestly, I’m edging towards more faceless marketing.

If you can create good quality faceless content, you can succeed on TikTok. Faceless marketing is so popular today and will continue growing.

8 Steps to Building A Faceless Brand

8 Steps to Building A Faceless Brand

Building A Faceless Brand Can Be Fun. Indeed, Make That The Goal

I started building a faceless brand for an unusual reason. I didn’t mind being on camera. I’d often film on my phone when out walking with my dogs. I could kid myself I was working, hahaha.

Anyhow, I woke up one morning with a face like an angry beetroot, some sort of weird rash. I took antihistamines for a week but it didn’t improve.

It took months for that rash to calm down, despite stronger meds from the doctor. Meantime, I started creating faceless content and, you know what. I enjoyed it. There is far less editing and it’s quicker to throw some images or video shots together. Plus, I had more fun as I didn’t have to keep air filtering my old face!

There are disadvantages to faceless marketing, of course. For instance, psychological studies show that we are more responsive to advertising if it features a person or group of people. Still, don’t let that put you off building a faceless brand.

Step 1: Identify Your Audience

You’re probably yawning because you’d prefer watching paint dry. However, as tedious as it is, identifying your audience is essential for building a faceless brand.

Take time to work out the demographics and psychographics of your audience. You might want to create a buyer persona to target your marketing to that person. Somehow, that energy is conveyed subconsciously to people.

  1. How old?
  2. Location
  3. Tone of voice
  4. Interests & hobbies
  5. What is important to them?
  6. What do they do for work?
  7. What products do they use?
  8. What is the average income?
  9. What is not important to them?
  10. What do they want from life & work?
  11. What do they watch on TV or YouTube?
  12. What’s their inside leg measurement and do they like blueberry pie?

Research where your audience hangs out. There’s no point posting content on TikTok if your target audience prefers Instagram. For the latter, you might find the Instagram Faceless Strategy Guide helpful. YouTube is an excellent platform for finding most audiences and I’ve put together top tips for YouTube growth based on me stalking  following several YouTube gurus.

Step 2: Study The Competition

Study the successful faceless brand competitors in your niche, and work through the following questions: –

  1. What are their strengths?
  2. What are their weaknesses?
  3. What makes this brand unique?
  4. What tone of voice do they have?
  5. How do they structure their website?
  6. What social media platforms do they use?
  7. Which platforms do they get the most engagement?
  8. Do they use SEO? (Do a Google search for relevant keywords)
  9. Do they have a subscriber list? If yes, subscribe to assess their email campaign

By completing step 2, you should have an excellent overview of at least two of your top competitors. After that, model their strategies (NOT copy-find a unique spin of your own)

Step 3: Define Your Brand’s Position And Purpose

I’d recommend reading Simon Sinek’s book Start With Why. He says, and I agree that people don’t care what you do. They care why you do it—your underlying “why” will attract your tribe without you having to repeat the message.

You can find Simon’s content on YouTube if you search for his name.

Write a mission statement and elevator speech. Dig deep to understand why you’re doing what you do. If you’re doing it only for the money, your audience will sense that.

There must be a deeper purpose. Also, having a concrete “why” helps keep you motivated when times get tricky.

Step 4: Develop A Brand Personality And Voice

If you’re unsure of your brand personality and voice, I recommend reading Awakening the The Hero Within by Carol S Pearson. It’s about the six archetypes based on Jungian psychology (don’t worry. It’s an easy read).

The book will help you find a relatable archetype you can use throughout your brand creation. It will help you identify your natural strengths and understand your weaknesses.

A relatable brand personality and voice will be the backbone of your positioning and marketing.

Step 5: Create Your Brand Story

If you want to understand the power of storytelling, get the book Building A StoryBrand by Donald Miller, a leading expert on storytelling for business.

Your story must be relatable to your audience and follow a beginning, middle, and end structure.

You are the protagonist in the story, of course, but Donald’s Book teaches you to start with your customer as the central character, with you as the guide who leads them through their process and call to action.

Start using storytelling in your blog and marketing material.

Step 6: Pick A Brand Name

Your brand name must be easy to undertstand. Make it easy to pronounce and spell. Once you decide on a few names, research the internet to check for similar brand names. Remember, be unique.

Naming your brand is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Most top brand names are either abbreviations or one to two words. They are usually memorable and easy to say and spell.

Step 7: Choose A Slogan

Slogans should be short and catchy. Think of Nike’s slogan Just Do It. It doesn’t get simpler than that. It can capture an attitude or represent “what it does on the tin”, such as “Lunard Couriers Get it Done Faster.”

Your slogan could highlight a benefit, or it could rhyme. Don’t worry. You can change your slogan if you wish. Test out a few to see which ones your audience responds to.

Step 8: Design Your Brand Colours, Style & Logo

Did you notice the brand colours and logo are at step 8? The mistake most new businesses make is to start with this step, and that leads to problems if you don’t define positioning, brand personality, and voice.

Study the competition to see what colours they have for their brands. Are they loud and bright or subtle tones? That could be important because it matters to the relevant audience.

You don’t need to spend a fortune hiring a graphic designer to create your logo. There are so many options online for logo creation. Even Canva does a pretty good job.

Create a style guide, which includes font style and size for text and headings. Decide what type of images you want to use. Depending on your chosen brand colours, the images should complement the brand.

Conclusion

Test your brand and see how your audience responds. If it fails to land, don’t be afraid to tweak your branding or even completely rebrand. The main thing is that you feel passionate about your brand personality and voice because, ultimately, your business represents who you are.

If necessary, shift the colours, change the logo or the slogan, and keep assessing if you have chosen the right archetype for the business.

These 8 steps to building a faceless brand are no different to any other branding. Perhaps you want to do 50/50 faceless marketing. If that’s the case, use the same process because it works.

Have fun. Building a faceless brand needn’t be tedious or difficult. If you plan to be in business for a long time, start as you mean to go on and make it fun.

Faceless digital marketing should be fun, and there’s no reason you cannot build a unique brand.

How to Differentiate Your Brand in Faceless Marketing

April 23, 2024

differentiating a brand in faceless marketing

Standing Out With Building A Faceless Brand Takes A Bit Of Effort But Is Worth It

It’s easy to get lost in a sea of faceless marketing, so it’s vital to create a solid strategy for how you will differentiate your business from the crowd

Create A Comprehensive Strategy

Before doing anything, decide on brand essentials like colours, fonts, styles, and messaging. Look at other faceless marketing businesses, mostly a sea of creams and browns, and you realise creating a brand that stands out is not difficult.

Choose colours carefully because if you later decide you don’t like them, it can disrupt your branding if you change them.

Maintain Brand Consistency

The objective of powerful faceless branding is to attract your tribe by evoking trust and recognition with authenticity. Therefore, it’s essential to maintain consistency throughout your brand voice, messaging, ethos and values across all platforms.

Use Innovative Engagement Techniques

You don’t need to recreate the wheel with your branding techniques. Look at others in your niche and see what works for them. Model the engagement techniques but create a unique perspective. Use powerful narratives with storytelling.

Create interactive content that catches attention and aims to create an emotional connection. Tell your story. Don’t tell your audience “what” to do.

Focus On Transparency and Trust

Be authentic and open, and don’t try to fool your audience into thinking you’re something more than you are. Let your followers grow with you, see your struggles and see how you overcome them. Stick to facts, share simple information that helps your audience and support with data.

Build Your Community

It can take time to build a loyal community, so don’t rush the process. Always be authentic and honest, and talk to your audience as if you’re speaking to one person.

Don’t use the awful “guys” reference. It’s so generic and doesn’t speak to anyone specific. Use the words “you” and “your” you see on TikTok and YouTube. Drop in “we” occassionally, which fosters a feeling of inclusivity.

Even with a faceless brand, you can use your voice on video content, which helps to build a relationship with your audience.

Remember, to stand out, you must create something different. It doesn’t have to be widely unique, just enough to stop the scroll and catch the eye of your ideal tribe.

Mastering Faceless Marketing: A Guide for 2025

April 17, 2024

mastering faceless marketing

You Don’t Need to Be On Camera to Create A Successful Business

Mastering faceless marketing is easier than you think. Not everyone wants to be on camera. Watching young social media influencers with flawless skin, sparkling white teeth, and perfect hair can feel intimidating. Watching too many can put you off from starting a digital or affiliate marketing business.

Understanding Faceless Marketing

The concept of faceless marketing is simple. You create good quality content without showing your face on camera. You can showcase products or services, promote affiliate offers, or do anything else you want to do.

  • Strategies: Create content relevant to your audience with videos, voiceovers, AI avatars, animations, and graphics. Canva is the perfect platform for creativity.
  • Short Videos: Shorts are popular on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, although your videos may need tweaking to suit the different platforms.
  • Build Trust: As a faceless brand, you must work harder to build trust. Focus on providing value. Be authentic and refrain from only promoting offers.

Explore Diverse Platforms: Choose up to three social media platforms and focus on mastering content to suit each one. I am doing pretty much 100% faceless marketing now and my stats are rising. I use from my content back, including the 1500 aesthetic reels I am promoting.

Benefits of Faceless Marketing

There are many reasons for launching a faceless brand:

  • Anonymity: Many people in our community have launched a faceless digital marketing business while still working full-time. Some employers can get snarky about their employees showing their faces online. Faceless marketing protects your privacy, which is super important in this trolling age.
  • Consistent Brand Image: It is easy to create a faceless brand because it is not reliant on an individual turning up daily.
  • It Focuses the Audience’s Attention: Instead of focusing on a person, which can be distracting, your audience can focus on the content and message.
  • Creates Trust & Brand Authenticity: Faceless marketing lets you focus on your brand values and ideals, making it easier for your “tribe” to align with.
  • Less Pressure on You: You can create content with bed hair, in your pyjamas and not worry about your appearance. That makes it quicker to generate content than faffing about getting yourself camera-ready.

How to Start Faceless Marketing

  1. Study other faceless marketing channels in your genre and observe what they do that’s working.
  2. Choose two or three social media channels to create faceless content. Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube (Not much there yet, but working on content) and TikTok are all great channels for faceless brands.
  3. Choose your brand colours.
  4. Start creating content: If you can, bulk create a week at a time and schedule posts. That way, you avoid the dangers of procrastination or if work gets busy.
  5. Don’t expect instant results: Commit to a posting schedule and keep going.
  6. Engage with your audience if they post comments.

I’ve written a dedicated article on building a faceless brand and a popular feature on the disadvantages of faceless marketing.
